This Summer Holidays, Make Play Dough For Your Kiddies

Summer is already on head and as always, you, the mommies might have started thinking upon what you would make your kiddies do in holidays. If your kids are below 7 years, the mommies have to be very careful while choosing and deciding the holiday activities for your kids. You can think of many ideas, for example, paper art, craft, best out of waste or several do-it-yourself kind of stuff. But if you really want your chubbies learn while play, then the playing clay is right choice for you. You can do many things with the clay and with the help of it, you may teach your child many things as well. The tools to cut or shape it in different ways, are also available such as plastic knife, cutter and different shaped moulds.

However, many brands of playing clay are available in the market and also online, they might harmful to your kids. And so, we have decided to introduce some recipes of Play Dough which you can prepare very easily at your home with fewer efforts. Mommies would love the recipes as they have a satisfaction about the absence of several chemicals that exist in the market clay.

Recipe # 1

Required Materials:

  • Water: 1 Cup
  • Oil: 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt: ½ Cup
  • Cream of Tartar: 1 Tablespoon
  • Food Colour: A Pinch
  • Flour: 1 Cup

Method:

  • Mix salt, cream of tartar, food colour well
  • Take the mixture in a saucepan and add water and oil
  • Heat it until it gets warm
  • Stop heating and add the flour
  • Stir the mixture until it gets smooth
  • Play Dough is ready to use!

Note:Try not to omit the cream of tartar ingredient as it is the one due to which your dough would last for a longer.

Recipe # 2

Required Materials:

  • Cold Water: 1 cup
  • Salt: 1 cup
  • Vegetable oil: 2 Teaspoons
  • Food colour: A pinch
  • Flour: 3 cups
  • Cornstarch: 2 Tablespoons

Method:

  • In a bowl, take salt, water, oil and food colour
  • Mix it well
  • Gradually add the flour and cornstarch
  • Stir until the consistency of a bread dough
  • Store covered

Recipe # 3

Required Materials:

  • Water: 1 Cup
  • Flour: 1 Cup
  • Oatmeal : 2Cups
  • Food Colour: A Pinch

Method:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl
  • Mix them well and knead until it gets smooth
  • Add food colour and again mix it well
  • Cover it in a plastic or Aluminum foil
  • Store in the fridge

Note:This dough can be made by your kid without your help. This cannot be stored for a longer.

Recipe # 4

Required Materials:

  • Peanut butter: 2 Cups
  • Honey: 6 Tablespoons
  • Milk + Flour
  • Cocoa (Optional)

Method:

  • Mix all the materials in a bowl
  • Add honey and enough milk to reach to the bread dough consistency
  • Add cocoa to the dough
  • Stir the mixture until it gets smooth

Note:This dough made from peanut butter, is not harmful for your babies. So, there is no worry if they even once eat the clay.

In an air-tight container or a zip-locked bag, you can store your play dough in a cool dry place, always away from the direct sunlight.

The beautiful thing of this play dough is it can be formed in any form, any shape and any colour. We are sure your kiddies would love these clay activities.
